The Disability Support Programme
There are various types of disabilities, for example, physical, neurological, learning, psychiatric, invisible mental health, etc.
There is also a difference between disability and inability.
Disability is a restriction of not being able to do something due to the physical or mental health impairment whereas inability is the lacking the knowledge, skills or ability to perform tasks.
Different people require different support needs and thus are all valued members of society.
SOC provides support for the disabled who are more often deprived of opportunities and inclusion within society to enhance their lives.

Impact stories
There are wonderful inspiring successful stories in the history of SOC that we share, however. there are also numerous sad stories which are rarely brought to attention of the struggling lives of the destitute and unfortunate.

Dress makers
The 2 sisters were born with severe physical disabilities and, through their determination, have become talented fashion design dress makers. It is an incredible story of resilience and skill.

Self-sufficiency
Numerous wheelchairs, sewing machines and various forms of equipment have been provided by SOC over the years. The talented sisters with disabilities were provided with 1 electric wheelchair, 2 non-electric wheelchairs, and a sewing machine to assist them in their journey towards financial self-sufficiency and empowerment.

3 brothers
The 3 brothers above were born with intellectual impairments and have been supported by Sameem Orphan Care throughout their lives.

Wheelchair repair
A person with a disability has become self-sufficient by establishing a wheelchair repair business with support from SOC, including participation in the technical skills programme for people with disabilities.
