Our projects
Our primary focus has always been to protect vulnerable children and orphans from exploitation, but we help people in need in other ways too.
Orphans
Orphan children are amongst the most vulnerable in our world. We offer them protection, security and guardianship.
Widows
SOC provides widows with young children living in severe poverty with the necessary support until they find stability.
Food security
Every human being has a right to food security. We have helped impoverished families with food assistance for 20 years.
Education
We have been committed to promoting education and providing opportunities and support to hundreds of disadvantaged children for over 20 years.
Life skills
We embrace and promote the ancient wise philosophy of “give a person a fish and it will be food for one day, teach the person to fish, and they will have food for the rest of their life.” (Lao Tzu)
Healthcare
We have provided support from basic healthcare treatment to cataracts, kidney dialysis, and essentially to life-threatening kidney transplant and cancer related treatments.
Clean water programmes
Water and poverty are interlinked. SOC installs water pumps to provide safe clean water in areas where it was previously unavailable.
Emergency disaster relief aid
We have established and organised supply structure to respond to emergency relief situations providing direct support through tents, blankets, food packs, water, clothing and other essentials.
Disabilities
The assistance in the wellbeing and the empowerment of the persons of disability has been an uncompromising objective for 20 years.
Impact stories
To help the destitute do we have to be wealthy? Absolutely not, we just need to ignite the human traits of compassion and emotional empathy to at least think about the suffering of others and respond with kindness of actions.
